The Yorke Peninsula South Australia consists of beautiful blue beaches and high cliff ocean views. It really is a photographers dream destination and a great location for a weekend adventure. Here are my personal top 5 Yorke Peninsula beaches to photograph & visit:
1. Ethel Beach
Ethel Beach is famous for its remnant historic shipwreck, which was washed ashore in 1904. It is located within Innes National Park and can be reached by descending down a large number of stairs. Once you reach the bottom, you are towered over by large cliff faces and the atmosphere is indescribable. Powerful large waves break and crash upon the beaches shoreline, making this a great location for wave photography.
2. West Cape Beach
A quick 5 minute drive from Ethel's will find yourself at West Cape Beach. The long blue beach stretches kilometres down the coastline. West Cape makes for beautiful photo opportunities from below or above, you can't go wrong.
3. Chinamans Beach
Chinamans Beach is also found within Innes National Park and can be reached near the very start of the park. Pristine blue water and an island named Chinamans Hat can be found at the beach. The hat shaped island makes for a great photo, immersed with ocean blue water.
4. Cape Spencer
An old lighthouse is found on the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean at Cape Spencer, Innes National Park. Standing at the edge of the cliff beneath the lighthouse is breath-taking, staring into the endless forever changing ocean. Obviously, the lighthouse itself is the photographic feature, with leading lines from the walking path to the lighthouse.
5. Berry Bay
Berry Bay is found slightly north of Corny Point, which follows the same gravel roads to reach the beaches. Berry Bay is a popular surf beach, which also makes for great wave photography. Many rocks can be found and explored within Berry Bay.
